I’m Joey and I’m all about ‘Selling’. I find everything about the concept fascinating, absolutely everything. Before we get into that, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and lived a fairly normal life up through High School. A loving mom and dad, an older brother and a younger sister. My dad was an electrician for most of his life. He first worked for a company and then later started his own electrician business which ultimately failed. He is a major factor in how I became interested in the idea of selling. My mom stayed at home and kept the house in order. She also contributed to my desire to better understand the importance of sales and how it directly relates to personal and professional success.

My life growing up was average. I played sports, got decent grades, and had a good group of friends. However, no matter how good I did in school or what I accomplished on the baseball diamond, I knew deep down that there was something lacking. I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

It wasn’t until High School that I took my first Business class. This class immediately provided clarity to what was lacking in my life, it was ‘selling’. In this class I was exposed to different types of business entities, the importance of business plans, and that we are constantly selling ourselves whether it be in our personal lives or professional careers. I was able to connect the dots and finally realized that selling and success are one in the same.

From this class I began to apply what I had learned in every aspect of my life. Dinner table conversations, driveway basketball with my brother, my teller window at the bank I worked at, and seeking out business mentors. I realized the power of words, and with how they are spoken. I realized that hand gestures and facial mannerisms can provide or project certain information. I realized that I had been selling my entire life and just now knew it. This awareness was a beautiful thing, because until your conscious of something you cannot be intentional about either improving or eradicating it.
